A question that came to mind, that if it was put on autopilot, then why could the pilot not of flown further or landed?

SSG Paul Endes - my point, if autopilot is to be put on before ejection or then he eiject?

PO1 H Gene Lawrence - correction, then why eject? It just doesn’t even sound reasonable to me to eject after putting on autopilot if autopilot will not work if all is not right for flying.
