I have an unusual family history. The first of the Family Name fought on both sides of the Revolution. He was originally a Hessian captured at Trenton, recaptured/exchanged back to the British under Cornwallis, deserted and joined the Americans. Some indication he was at Kings Mountain, but Militia records outside of the "organized" militias was spotty at best. I love reading of the Revolutionary War and visiting sites important to it. Two of my are Yorktown and the site where Washington crossed the Delaware river prior to the attack against the Hessians in Trenton. He actually crossed the Delaware on three seperete occasions but the attack on Trenton is the one made famous because of the painting.

Growing up we would camp at Washington's Crossing Park, and at Valley Forge with the Boy Scouts. Camping there in the snow and dead of winter can give you a taste of what they experienced.

PO1 Kevin Dougherty I bet, but the memories have to be great. I've not been to Valley Forge but its on my bucket list.
My boys were in Scouts, eldest is an Eagle, we were in Louisiana during that time and winter camped in several places but never had to deal with Snow.
