Wildfire- Michael Martin Murphey

A very haunting tune, always liked it though.

I love the slide-show with loads of great photos & art, but the song is far too sad for me. Too much death: The mare Wildfire, her person & soon, the narrator expects to die. UGH! I've suffered too much loss in my life. Lost my mother when I was 5, all my GOOD family members, but most painful of all, my beloved paternal grandparents. I've lost too many horses, dogs & cats that I loved with all my heart & soul. I enjoy happy horse songs: "Horse With No Name" even is good although the horse is let loose in the desert. Not very responsible, is that? Then there's "Mustang Sally" which isn't "specifically" about horses, except the woman's name is MUSTANG (American wild horse) Sally & the refrain is "ride around Sally, ride Sally, ride!" Definitely someone as obsessed with horseback riding as I am.
