"training teachers to carry guns" is not an answer. Teachers are basically nurturers. I think most teachers would hesitate to use deadly force and if they do, they will become another victim and the shooter will have another weapon.
When I worked at a gun store and someone wanted to buy a pistol for "self defense" I would ask them if they were prepared to take a life. Many said no, they just wanted the gun to "scare" the culprit. Wrong answer. I would usually suggest prepper spar or some other non-lethal device instead of a gun.
Also, I would not want children being taught by a person that would be willing to kill another human being.
I have no objection to armed security personnel, but they should be well trained, well paid, and undergo extensive background checks.

No simple answer for this problem.

MSG Thomas Currie - I can understand your opinion, although I disagree with it. Is it possible you could give me the same, without insulting me?

MSG Stan Hutchison - I do "understand your opinion" but that leads to what you called insulting you... I know what you said was false, so I questioned whether you had simply been fooled or if you were deliberately lying. In fact, rather than insulting you, I clearly stated that I would assume you had just been fooled. Your reaction suggests that I was wrong about that. Apparently you do know your argument is false but at spewing it in the hope of fooling others.

MSG Thomas Currie - "I know what you said was false" No you don't. It is your opinion that what I said is false, but you cannot prove it, so, just like my comment, it is an opinion.
And, yes, calling me a lair or a fool is insulting me.

By the way, I base my "opinion" on over a decade in the retail gun business.

..."According to the data, Democrats are more inclined (65% to 38%) to support investing in social and emotional measures to enhance school safety over expanded security measures. Respondents favored approaches like guidance counselors, anti-bullying campaigns, and increased mental health education. While those who identified as Republican strongly favored (60% vs. 30% of Democrats) expanded security measures, like metal detectors, bulletproof glass, and clear backpacks over social and emotional measures.

The third, less popular option, was whether they support investing in training measures: "So that's training teachers to carry guns,"...

Here we go again, the same old arguments to ban everything on the false premise that making good people defenseless will somehow make bad people harmless
