Hamas is a political activist party that has become the face of Gaza. Hamas is a young and inexperienced Group which is why their ideology is more radical.

In contrast, the Fatah is a political resistance party that governs the West Bank. This party was founded by the former President of the Palestine National Authority Yassar Arafat and so, it is seasoned and more diplomatic. The President of the Palestine National Authority today is Mahmoud Abbas who is from the Fatah.

Engaging negotiations with the President of the Palestine National Authority Mahmoud Abbas will be more productive and goal oriented. However, engaging Hamas in a tit-for-tat war is definitely counterproductive.

CPT Gurinder (Gene) Rana Like Isis, Hamas is a terrorist political idealogy that has no place in a civilized world. Also, like Isis, exterminating them is going to be a long, exhausting, and casualty filled effort. However, I wouldn't consider efforts in that direction counterproductive.

Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen - ISIS wouldn't exist without the US - the invasion of Iraq was the breeding ground for ISIS. Same as Hamas wouldn't exist without Israel - and Israel supported Hamas for years up until a few years ago.

I understand Israel's motives. I also understand the more non-Hamas Palestinians they kill, the more Hamas will recruit. We should have learned that in Vietnam.
I am not saying Israel should forgive and forget, but I do believe they should do more to protect the innocent.

If they truly were trying to get to Hamas - they wouldn't be bombing hospitals, churches, mosques, refugee camps. They wouldn't be annihilating an entire people...they'd use more direct attacks. They'd use SF. Again, we didn't bomb Pakistan to get bin Laden. We used SF to go in and target him. Not take out the entire country.

Israel doesn't want a Palestinian state. They don't want Arabs in Israel. They want to wipe them out. They have made that very clear for 75 years.
