Even people who adore Prince say he would be proud of Dolly's rendition. I was surprised, in as good way, for sure.
I saw the movie, and know the story of the song in that context. It is from her album Rockstar which I haven't listened to. I read a comment saying she was motivated to do the album to make being honored with being added to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, real - given she did not really think she had done any rock and roll music.
