_Seattle City Council has 9 seats, they are all currently held by Democrats.
_Seattle has not had a Republican on the city council in almost 20 years.
_Seattle has not had a Republican mayor since March 1969.
_The Seattle Police Depart has an authorized strength of 1200 full-time or full-time equivalents (FTE),
_In response to the death of George Floyd in May of 2020, the Seattle police force budget was cut in half for the remainder of the fiscal year. The funds taken from the police were "invested" back into community outreach efforts.
_In addition, in response to public protest, the Seattle police officers union lost representation (by city council vote) on the city's Fair Labor Relations Council.
_In the first year of the "defund the police" movement the Seattle Police Force shrank by 400 deployable officers (who were not replaced through recruitment) through retirement, early retirement, transfers to other law enforcement agencies or officers leaving law enforcement entirely.

Democrats on the council recognized the uptick in violence after the "defunding." In efforts largely uncovered by the local media, measures were taken to "restore" lost funding of the police budget. However, adjusted for inflation and smaller payroll, the budget for police operations is still 19% lower than the budget prior to the "defunding." Those efforts have NOT resulted in an improvement in the deployable manpower numbers for sworn law enforcement officers. The reported strength of the Seattle Police Department as of December 1st, 2023 is 948 full-time or FTE deployable officers.

Time to start shooting those rotten criminals for self survival even though they aren't worth the cost of the bullet that sends them to hell.

You're not allowed to protect yourself with firearms because then you go from victim to criminal. And if the cops do something they let the criminal go.

SFC (Join to see) I was a police chief in Alaska 07-11, after I retired from the Guard and as a NC police chief. Seattle and Portland were nice cities back then. They are now dysfunctional, dystopian, post-apocalyptic, filthy, smelly, violent, horrible cesspools of despair, void of hope, compliments of Marxist Dems. All major blue sanctuary cities are that way. Shame on those who did this, but also shame on those who stay. Insanity is defined among others ways, as engaging in the same course of conduct and anticipating a significantly different outcome. They’re so what they sow. SMH.

SFC (Join to see) - Unfortunately, don't generally see the effect of rising crime. It's just a headline..., until they or a loved one are the victim of that uptick in crime. Then it is a great deal of weeping, wailing and gnashing of teeth.
