My opinion…
1. Trump’s lawyers brought this on themselves with late filing. They waited over three weeks and filed at last minute before deadline.
2. 8th amendment does not apply. This is a private lawsuit, not government. It’s not excessive since Trump previously claimed to be a billionaire and should already have the assets to pay.

Read the 8th amendment
This was in civil court so..yeah. The 8th Amendment applies to criminal charges. Not civil. Smh. Not surprised you don't know this.
