I adhered to most of those rules. If I couldn't afford to take a girl out, I didn't ask. WHen my daughter was old enough to understand I started taking her out on daddy daughter night. We got dressed nice, I got the door for her car and restaurant, she ordered what she wanted, I picked up the bill where she could see me do it and we went home. I did that so she would know how a lady should be treated. We did it about three times a year until it wasn't cool to be seen with mom or dad but it stuck...she is getting married in three weeks to a good young man who treats her like a lady. But she also saw how I treated her momma. The comedian Jerry Clower states it best in this attached clip.

Sgt (Join to see) - Ann...problem is these days a lot of young men that are raising their daughters leave it to their mom when a Dad should be the one living their life as an example of how to treat a lady and be the provider for the family. We have gotten so far away from that. Unfortunately in todays world it is a me me me type of society. For me it is clear in the bible that the man should lead his home and love his wife as Christ loves the church. That doesn't mean that a man should lord over his family but lead them in the ways of God and respect the roles in the home and work as one. I have fallen woefully short of that over the years but for the grace of God. My grandparents led that life and my grandmother was the consumnate lady...my grandad adored her. My dad loved my mom and was a great example of that as well up until the day he died 11 years ago. I hjave tried to pass that on to my daughter. I have always told her to get an education so you can provide for yourself...that you don't need a man but you will have one because you want one to love and take care of you and your home. I will always be there for my wife and family and treat them with the respect they deserve and lead our home with the strength of God cause I know I could never do it in my strength. Women are to be respected and adored. A man should understand he doesn't protect his woman because she is weak, he protects her becasue she is important and a gift from God!

Why should others be judged by your morals?

I double dated with a friend of mine from our summer place. We went in his car to a drive in movie but right before we got there he stopped and without saying a word he and the two girls got out. They walked to the back and he opened the trunk and the girls hopped in then we drove up to the admissions booth and I bought 2 tickets. And in we went.

CPL Douglas Chrysler - Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen I had a 1972 Ford LTD 2 door. There was one time it was $10 a car...I think we had 14 or 15 people in the car and open trunk and we all got in...they didn't like it but they had to honor it. Fun times!

Lt Col Scott Shuttleworth Ya, the good Ole days. We have an operating drive in a few miles from me and one weekend a year they have nostalgia days where they charge by the car.

Besides the trunk trick we drive in through the exit a few times with our lights off. We got away with it and no one got hurt. It wasn't the smartest thing we did.
