There are numerous soldiers who owe their lives to the A10 and the men and woman that fly them. If these are old then make new ones. I’m sure the USAF holds the production drawings now that Republic Aircraft no longer exists. We don’t need flash and dash in the ground war … we need tank killing, directed missile fire, smart bombs delivered by a system that is survivable … if we weren’t loaded up with PowerPoint Generals both Air Force and Army they would know this and they would fight for the capability. A procurement program managed on an expedited bases can get this done. Capability over technology … in this case the ground pounders best friend.

Look A-10s are old and have been used hard, not like the older B-52s that spent a significant part of their lives sitting on alert. I was at SOS in the early 70s getting a briefing from the A-10 Project Manager when he was handed the notice of first production decision. For that type of aircraft, still flying in 2024 is miraculous.

LTC (Join to see) Sorry, the SU-25 isn't that impressive of an aircraft. Based on the training I had even my old FB-111 could easily evade them.
