Sarasota School Board votes to reject recent changes to federal Title IX rules

PO1 William "Chip" Nagel Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 prohibits discrimination based on sex in education programs that receive federal financial assistance. The new rules,announced last month by the U.S. Department of Education, expands protections to include gender identity and sexual orientation. They are slated to take effect in August.

Moms for America (momsforamerica.us) unveiled America's Wall of Honor on May 27 in a lighting ceremony at Art of Honor in Omaha, Nebraska.

Flynn concluded with three calls to action for all the mothers in attendance. "First, local action has a national impact! The most important person on a given day is a precinct volunteer in a local election hall. Second, show up to your school board meeting and become members of the school board. Schools do not decide what our children are taught; we decide what our children are taught. Third, get involved in your community in some capacity."

Citing the Doctrine of the Lesser Magistrates, Flynn encouraged event attendees, "Our Constitution is based on individual liberty. They gave us the power. Moms for America, do not forget that one of your platforms is the Constitution ... everything we have in this country is because of people who came before us. This is a call to action. Our country needs patriots right now, patriotic American citizens who care deeply about our communities, our families, our faith and our country. Without us, there is no other shining city on a hill, no other true North Star to follow."
