6.5mm rounds are nothing really new, Italy used it during WWII if I remember correctly.

Didn't they recently spend a lot of time and money to develop the 6.8mm (.270) SPC? You want a cost effective upgrade on ammo? Go .300 blackout.

The 6.5 mm is a much better round than the 5.56. At least for killing things.
