Freaking out about NYC sea level rise is easy to do when you don’t pay attention to history

The History channel provides a great Photoshop image of NYC under 78 meters of sea level rise. The only problem is, they don't tell you the whole story. A linear extrapolation of sea level rise would get you there in...26,000 years! Not much chance any of the buildings (or possibly even mankind) will be there in the year 28017.

Lol! Didn’t have to read the article - all I had to do was open it and see the words “History Channel’s Armageddon Week”. Unscientific hyperbole at its finest (which is why I quit watching the History Channel years ago).
Found it surprising that someone took it seriously enough to write an essay, though...
