I see this as a very small percentage or people but I feel that it could end up growing as the Netanyahu government continues to sell Israel's future stability to keep the support of the ultra-orthodox parties and stay in power.

Also the article makes a self-contradicting statement "Trump has also allowed Israel’s right-wing government to build thousands of new settlement units and to establish the first West Bank settlement for two decades.". Obviously Trump doesn't deserve the blame for that one because that's something that Presidents Obama, Bush and Clinton all tolerated (even if they protested).

BAD decision. MANY citizenship benefits REQUIRE service in the military including education beyond secondary, welfare benefits, state sponsored medical benefits and the list goes on and on and on. Israel grew up on a military centered political system and most benefits derive from that service. AND service is NOT optional. It is mandatory.
