It will be interesting to see if the Arabs try to put the Kurdish genie back in the bottle when this is over. The Kurds are proving to be the best ally the west has in this fight and I don't see how a new Kurdish state doesn't come out of this. However, the Turks, Iraqis, and Iranians will all be upset...but I don't see the Kurds giving back all this land...that's why they're actually fighting hard...its for Kurdistan.

That's a good point Cheif. They deserve it but it might not be worth the damage it would cause US relations in an already precarious situation. Hopefully there's at least one genuine ally worth fighting for.

SSG Carlos Madden I agree it will put the US in bad spot, I just don't see the Kurds giving it all back. They've been treated poorly by the Turks, Arabs, and Persians forever. The reason they're fighting so hard is they're fighting for a homeland. I think everyone knows it but doesn't want to bring it up. It'll be all good until they decide they want a couple oil fields in Kurdistan...and then it'll be on!
