I just don't get why someone doesn't reign him in. Give him an etiquette class. Have him sit through the CNO/CAO class. Something. This crap where he responds like a five year old is getting ridiculous. He needs to at least have some empathy or protocol when he talks to family of fallen servicemembers.

You know no matter what if POTUS would just come out and say he was sorry if the conversation was taken that way. He didn't mean to offend the family and he loss weighs heavily on him (or something like that) this could blow over in a short time.

In what world did you gather that she "planned" for the President to call her and let others listen? She was with her mother in law and the Congresswoman is a friend of the family far before her husband was killed. The mother in law was probably with her preparing the funeral or helping her daughter in law and the Congresswoman as a friend was there for support too.
