An unfathomable incident.

Once again a prime example of an individual walking down the street minding their own business but because of no other reason he was stopped for nothing other than being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
He posed no threat to the Police officers and should have been given the benefit of the doubt of where he was coming from but because of the color of his skin he was automatically the suspect.
14 months? More like life damn it.
My philosophy; if you are found guilty of a crime involving taking a life by a jury of your peers, you forfeit your own.
He should have checked and rechecked the medication he was about to administer a 145 lbs individual if he was a clear and present danger to the Police Officers which in this case wasn’t.
May God bless his family and may He Rest In Peace.

I was living there at the time. I do not disagree on the premise he never should have been stopped. That said, the use by state Emergency response supervisors of a non-existent diagnosis of 'excited delirium' over decades and training folks to a 'standard' that probably led to this is a greater disservice to the society. Was there recklessness in the dosing regimen? I think so. But I wasn't in court so no idea if there are mitigating circumstances; everything has shades of gray

SFC Terry Stinnett I totally agree with you, it just hurts my heart to see how race played the part once again.
We pray every day for Peace and Love for one another but the stark reality is that this has been going on for Generations. I sincerely believe that our Grandchildren’s generation will start the transition from “your guilty because you’re black, brown, yellow, red, or white” and transition into a society of none lethal methods if you are just walking/driving down the street minding your own business.
Bring God and our Pledge of Allegiance back into our schools and watch how a couple of Generations will make the difference.
