So many refuses to recognize the fact that this nation was built of slavery. I do not see any viable means to ever repay that moral debt.
The same goes for our debt to the original inhabitants.

That depends on the school. It's certainly acknowledged and taught in the northeast, and there's a thing there where part of the overall experience is recreating a basic version of the Underground Railroad. What usually isn't taught in grade school at least is that slaves here on this continent weren't just people originating from Africa, nor the fact that many African tribal leaders sold their own to the slave traders (usually the village idiots along with political enemies).
