I was sorry to hear of this. When I visited Hawaii 8 years ago I was very honored to meet one of the Arizona survivors, at that time I think he said there were only 3 left.

MSgt Dale Johnson That would have been great to be able to do that. The stories he must have told you given that he had a first hand account of the incident.

I have visited the USS Arizona a few times during the time I was stationed at Hickam AFB, HI 1971 to 1974 but never got to meet or talk to a survivor, that must have been very interesting. I have talked though to local residents that were in the area when Pearl Harbor was attacked. My late Father in law was involved with the US Army in starting to install the guns or the USS Arizona on a shore battery while He was stationed in Hawaii after the Pearl Harbor attack time period.(He wasn't there yet on the attack date) He then deployed and went ashore on landing craft on Guam, Okinawa an done other Japanese held Island.
