I hope they will comply, it would be key to stopping hostilities. I doubt peace would be permanent, the Palestinians have broken the peace numerous times in the past.

When was last time a hostage was communicated with?

I have a deal for them. Surrender, disband, turn in your weapons to the IDF and hostilities cease…

I do hope that Israel doesn't stop until Hamas is completely annihilated. That would be a just outcome. Then they should do the same with Hesbollah.

Most likely, they (the hostages) are dead. Israel should operate on that premise.
If they are not dead, negotiating with Hamas merely teaches Hamas and similar organization to include hostage taking within their bag of tricks. follow the Geneva conventions but the only acceptable outcome is the death, capture or unconditional surrender of every Hamas fighter and total disarmament of the residents of Gaza.
