SFC Casey O'Mally - I did not say that. Justice was the culprit being locked up. I do not know the extent of the victim's injuries but unless he was rendered incapable of making a decent living, I agree the sum seems high

SFC Casey O'Mally - If you don't want to give the plaintiff everything that he's asking for, then you have to file an answer and defend yourself. Hays didn't do that, so the judge was required to enter a default judgment against Hays for the full amount pleaded for.
The other two officers being sued filed an answer, so that case is still ongoing.
