Today I took my "crew" to the USS Nautilus museum in Groton, CT. On the way I saw a sign for the National WWII Submarine Memorial. Not having heard of it, we decided to investigate. So glad we did. What a beautiful memorial and tribute to the 52 subs and 3000+ crewman lost during WWII.

I'd love to get there to see the Arizona and Mo. It's on the bucket list!. I can't complain though because Battleship Cove in Fall River MA is an awesome time with everything they have on display there.

In 21 years I was blessed to see some Naval History and got to make a bit of my own.

Looks fairly new - might not have been there when I was living in New York. I use to drive up 95 all the time to Boston. Never heard of it either.

You don't even see a sign until you get off exit 86 going to Groton and the Nautilus.

Funny you should say that as I've been to the Nautilus - if it was there I drove right by it.

Would not ever want to be a submariner - 6'5" 260 lbs I think makes for a hostile environment.
