Eve of Destruction Barry McGuire...
A QUOTE FROM THE COMMENTS - "This song is so true and reminds me of when my brother was sent to Vietnam to fight in the jungles and swamps. He enlisted in the Army at 16 years old and looked like a little kid in the photo holding his rifle. He was a sharpshooter and managed to survive physically for 3 years in Nam. He said that the officers in charge did not really know where the enemy was or where other American soldiers were. Sometimes the big guns blew up their own men who were out in the jungle. Little kids would run out to the GI’s in the streets with grenades strapped on them by the enemy and blow up the American soldiers. My brother died young from infectious hepatitis he obtained from the swamps after pulling off leaches from his skin. He left behind his son and three step children that adored him as their father. I miss him very much. RIP✝️"
