It’s always funny to me when the left throws out something and has no clue about the underlying data. There should be a mandatory course for progressives – how to do critical thinking and actually look at information rather than regurgitating talking points you’ve been feed by your political or media masters.

This IS great news. All I can say is THANK YOU TEXAS AND OIL COMPANIES!!! Of the 410,703 million barrels (Mbbl) per month the US produced in October 2023 (last info the EIA has in it’s database), 173,821 Mbbl of it came from Texas (or 42.32% of all US oil production). DESPITE Biden's war on oil (particularly in the first days of his presidency), the shutting down of almost 20% of oil rigs since January 2021 (according to EIA’s rig count report), and a 43.4% decrease of federal land leases granted by the end of 2023 when compared to before he came into office (5,964 down to 3,376).

Looking at EIA’s data for each of the different PADDs (oil production regions), the entire oil production for the US has increased 19% since January 2021, but progressives do what they always do - either roll-up their failures and blame it on the right (like they do with the blue city crime in red states) or they try and take credit for the stuff they mostly had nothing to do with (like Biden and his “I created 14 million jobs!” when only about 2.5 million jobs were “created” and the rest were recovery jobs from the pandemic shutdown).

So, where did that 19% increase (65.445 Mbbl) in production come from? Mostly from Texas where there was a 30.33Mbbl increase from the time he came into office. The biggest decreases? California (-2.15Mbbl) and federal drilling in Alaska (-2Mbbl).

Now, that is still good news for Biden because he helped Texas increase production, right? Wrong.

According to the Department of the Interior’s Natural Resources Revenue Data (the DOI manages all the oil/cola/NG leases … the BLM is the one that approves the leases), only 1.9% of the oil production in Texas is on federal land and production on that land has decreased by more than half since Biden has come into office. Texas has been permissive in granting drilling leases and almost 100% of the new drilling has been on state-owned or private property.

As one oil analyst said about oil production in 2022 when talking about the lack of private investment even though oil prices were high – “U.S. crude oil production decreased due to a combination of factors – work force shortages, supply chain issues, financial and energy policies – and has been unable to increase in response to higher prices, as it has done in the past. Seemingly long-term policies can affect investment today. Restrictive energy polices -- including undermining pipeline infrastructure, an indefinite moratorium on leasing on federal lands, proposed higher taxes and a clean energy plan to eliminate natural gas in power generation – have not helped to stimulate investment, drilling and production needed to meet demand.”

Biden’s effect on US oil production is like a mirror of his border policies. In both cases, he wasn’t responsible for the situation he walked into. Oil production in the US took a big hit from COVID where there was an almost 38 Mbbl drop in two months from the pandemic shutdown of the economy. For the border, there has been a broken immigration system for years that he’s not responsible for (or only partially responsible for as any Senator is). Where the mirror comparison comes in is his approach to both.

For the border, his open border policies and rhetoric poured gasoline on a smoldering fire and caused an inferno (last year was over SEVEN times the yearly average of the previous DECADE). For Oil and Gas production, despite his policies and rhetoric on oil and fossil fuels, the oil industry was able to increase production by doing two things - working with states and developing new technologies to produce more oil.

Biden has done very little to help increase oil production in this country since he’s been in office and progressives are just trying to rewrite reality by saying his policies have increased production. If that’s really true, then point to the specific actions he’s taken that have helped the oil industry increase production.

LTC (Join to see) What's telling is that when Trump was President, we had record oil production and low prices. Now we have 'record oil production' and still have high gas prices. Why? Biden policies, that's why.

LTC Trent Klug Sir we weren’t suppose to figure that little secret out lol. Biden has to steal more money from us he didn’t think we’d figure that out. He need more money and since Congress finally started threatening his open tab piggy bank he needed another source of money to pay for all his give aways, forgiving college debts for all these crying liberal snowflakes and his illegal alien immigration and other worthless debt producing policies. To get a quick buck and his hate for fossil fuel he figured he’d just use the money from from over priced gas tax instead of reducing the price for the consumers. I find it telling that they weren’t bragging and boosting about gas production but since it came out he figured he’d take credit for it and hope we didn’t ask if productions up at record rates why isn’t it showing at the pump. They really think were braindead like him and make that connection. The moneys going somewhere.

MGySgt Samuel Steen You got that right. The money's going somewhere...unsupervised. In past administrations it was called thievery.

I couldn’t agree with you more, they come into politics dead broke and leave politics multi millionaires and that’s not an exaggeration. They lie to our faces and when it’s time to pay the bills they point fingered at each other and can’t tell or more importantly show us how they indebted us some 34 trillion dollars, not counting the money we owe other countries. It’s probably twice that much because they blowed the money we all paid in taxes each year, It says the US Government collected $5.03 trillion in revenue in FY 2022 but didn’t pay a penny of that on debt reduction, so it’s mind boggling to understand what they did with that $5.03 trillion if we had to borrow $859,400,000,000 from just China. Now I’m not a financial wizard but, if it cost us $1.06 trillion to run the country in 2023 that left almost $4 trillion dollars why didn’t they take at least $1 trillion to pay off our debt to China because we owe China $859,400,000,000 which is stupid. Someone’s getting rich and it sure isn’t the American people because, if we $5.04 trillion in taxes and it only cost $1.06 trillion to operate our country, we could have paid some of the other 9 countries we owe money. I was also shocked to see who and what we owe money to, bellow is the list and it’s mind boggling.
Japan $1,104,400,000,000
China $859,400,000,000
UK $668,300,000,000
Belgium $331,100,000,000
Luxembourg $318,200,000,000
Switzerland $290,500,000,000
The Cayman Islands $285,300,000,000
Canada $245,100,000,000
Ireland $253,400,000,000
Twain $234,600,000,000
This is insane considering all the taxes we pay in federal, state and local. These politicians owe us some answers and I believe it’s time they have an answer to fix this mismanagement of our money. I was shocked to write those numbers down.

Hope it continues and I bet it will as we enter the election cycle. Now, how does Biden navigate record US oil production with his climate change base? Hummm...

President biden is violating the constitution by canceling oil leases in alaska and in the gulf of mexico without the consent of Congress.

Just like with allowing eight million illegal aliens in the country , this goes against a constitution and he could be impeached over it eventually. President Biden is disobeying the laws on the books and making up his own rules. Like canceling student debt even once. Supreme court says you can't do it without consent of congress.

The Biden administration is undemocratic and a threat to Democracy.
