Capt Gregory Prickett - Your statement is in the source I cited. Franklin also said he went to Church and Thanked God for the mercies he had received and goes on to say f he were Catholic he might build a Church to a Saint but since he isn’t he would build a light house. It seems the meaning of Franklin’s words are twisted for your atheistic purposes..

Capt Gregory Prickett - actually it is a little more nuanced but deist believe in God and apparently Franklin went to a Church to thank God for his mercy.
