Does anyone else get annoyed with the numerous changes/edits made to your post by RallyPoint Administrators?

Today I had Rally Point administrators make numerous "tag changes" to one of my discussion posts, and a rephrasing of another discussion post because the title wasn't formatted as a question. Really? I see numerous discussion posts currently on Rally Point that are not formatted as a question. And all the tag changes, seriously? How many profile points do you all get for the edits anyway?

I didn't know that they were changing tags. That can quite often change the 'flavor' of the intended discussion. So can the changes to the tittles, but I can see that for purposes of "clarity."
I don't like the silent alteration of another's words. I don't claim that they can't do it, as it is a private site, but I don't like it. I would actually prefer straight deletion - preferably with a "deleted by admin" placeholder.

When we edit the tags or the question itself, we have the option to either allow the email to alert the poster of the change, or not allow it.
When tags are properly used, they place the question in the appropriate groups, helping those interested in the topic to find the question. Some posters don't know how to use tags properly, and questions don't end up where they are supposed to. Or, simple mistakes are made. For example, there were a number of questions tagged with Cuba, MO, instead of the country Cuba.
Regarding changing the flavor of a discussion, sometimes the body of the question (underneath the title) suggests a topic that has a clearly relevant tag, that the poster may not be aware of, or may have forgotten. I try to be very careful to stay true to the original meaning of the post when editing tags.

I do not care enough to check it and anyway I have typos that do not get fixed and these are cause by dyslexia and seizures.

Exactly my point. A reason was given for not following standard grammar rules. Seriously? I emailed them back and told them that they are going to be extremely busy if they are going to correct grammatical errors.

I had a bright young member admin change / add a tag (topic) to one of my discussion threads (questions), Col (Join to see). I felt kind of flabbergasted (dumb?) that I had missed adding the "Fort Riley" tag to a thread that was about something that happened at or near Fort Riley, but I didn't think anything of the member admin adding the tag. It made perfect sense.
I agree with you, sir, about the question format. I do my best to post questions when I do start a discussion because that's still the preferred way to do things here. But it's obviously not required, just recommended.
I often tighten up grammar and spelling mistakes in titles. And I will tweak tags if I see something obvious missing.
The bottom line is that RP member admins are here to help. With that said, we should not change the essence of the post or "get in the way." We should be making things better, kind of behind the scenes. Facilitating in forum, as it were.
