I am needing some assistance, I have checked the DA PAM 611-21already, but I am unable to find what MOS's I am eligible for, now that I have a class three permanent profile on my hearing. (Everything else is class 1). The battalion is stating that I must reclass to a non-exposure risk position, due to my hearing loss, and that a 92G is my only option. I feel there has to be more out there available.

Your new MOS, based on the MEB and MOS qualifications will tell you what you can reclass to. Also, your friendly neighborhood Career Counselor could also answer this. I'll do more digging, but right now I recommend you seek out your Career Counselor for their input

Thank you for the input. I'm aware the MOS qualification play a role as well, but the issue I am running into is the class 3 hearing, my line scores are adequate, I simply cannot find what MOS will allow a class 3 hearing score.

SGT(P) (Join to see), when looking at DA PAM 611-21, every MOS shows what physical profile you need (the minimum PULHES). Doing a search through the document for those that have a 3 in hearing, and not counting the ones for skill level 4/5 or the ARNG/USAR specific ones, I see the following MOSes:

36B - Financial Management Technician
68M - Nutrition Care Specialist
79S - Active Duty Career Counselor
92G - Culinary Specialist (CASP MOS)

However, you're putting the cart before the horse. Once you are given a P3 profile, the installation retention office automatically kick of a referral to a MOS Administrative Retention Review (MAR2)* to evaluate if you can stay in your MOS, reclassify to another MOS, or referred to a Medical Evaluation Board (MEB) because you don't meet the standards of medical fitness for retention in the military.

After your MAR2 packet gets sent down to your unit, your Career Counselor will complete it along with some other administrative actions for you (MAR2 counseling) and they will send it back up to the installation and then onto HRC. They will make a determination and notify you.

From your comment, it doesn't sound like you have gone though a MAR2 yet, so your unit telling you that you have to reclassify is VERY premature.

Thank you for that input, I have gone through the MAR2 process, I should have clarified that. They elected to retain me, however stated that I have to reclass. That's when our Battalion Retention NCO stated that my only option was 92G.

SGT(P) (Join to see) - Looks like according to the DA Pam, those listed MOSs will take your P3 hearing profile. What may be happening, if I were to guess, is that 92G may be the only MOS that is open right now. Oddly enough, if 68M is open, you will go thru 92G course first THEN go to JBSA to go thru 68M course.

SGT(P) (Join to see), MSG (Join to see) provided the nitty gritty of the MAR2 process. I cannot improve upon that information, except to add my own experience.

I was an H3 and completed an MAR2, but also an MEB to conduct a fit for duty because E9 12 series cannot have an H3, apparently. I was cleared for duty in my current MOS and grade, but have to conduct a comprehensive hearing exam every year to maintain H1 and track my hearing loss as well as a hearing conservation profile. Now it's been a few years since, and the process may have changed. But it may be something to talk about with your medical readiness officer and S1.

Its a gamble, because if you are not cleared for duty and do not have an adequate path for reclassification they can separate you in the same process.
