My daughter treated me to a Movie today. We both are Sci-Fi fans, and Dune 2 was out at the local theater. I had not been to a Movie Theater in over twenty years. And man, you need a co-signer to get tickets.
Once inside, you can then allow them to rob you (unarmed robbery) at the candy counter. I paid more for two boxes of candy (the boxes were big, but not filled with candy) Popcorn and a Soda, then I paid to take my Mom and Dad out for their 35th Wedding Anniversary! And they had steak and lobster!
But the seats were Wonderfull, and reclined too. Sadly, even with my hearing aides in, the dialog included a lot of whispering. I don't hear whispers. Unless it is the kind you learned in a Huey or Blackhawk. I was content though. Because my daughter took time out of her day to take the Old Man out to a movie he would like.
And the stuff they put on popcorn in the Movie Theaters is still the same petroleum extract that I think they sell to Lube Joints after it expires. I would bet butter had never come within an inch of being included in that concoction.

The movie got some of the things from the Book just right. My favorite? The Sandworms! The Bene Gesserit Witches Costumes were perfect too. And that was my Cinco De Mayo Day. Lovely, just lovely.
