But here’s the thing, the majority of respondents, 51 percent, also said they favor Mississippi’s law restricting abortion to the first 15 weeks of pregnancy.

Here's the thing - if Roe is overturned there at least 23 states with trigger laws ready to ban abortion. Also those states are going to seek to criminalize anyone who tries to get an abortion in a state that it's legal in still. Not only that there are legislators who have tried to criminalize miscarriage as well.
And - if Roe is overturned that means the right to privacy goes away which will then not only affect abortion but can affect birth control, HIPAA, and some have stated they'll go after anything else not explicitly stated in the Constitution such as same sex marriage and interracial marriage.

Lawmakers in some states have already publicly said they would push to make birth control illegal. Pregnancy is not necessarily a "choice" of the woman or girl. Rape, incest, etc. The woman/girl doesn't have a choice. Should she still be forced to carry the fetus to term? What if she can't support it? What if the pregnancy is ectopic?

MY POINT: They are not just historical documents and are the supreme law of the law of our republic. It shows a lack respect and understanding on how this country was founded and how it is supported to work. Roe v. Wade was a flawed ruling base on a right NOT enumerated in the Constitution, the Bill of Right or any other amendment since. Even the "Notorious RBG" has stated Roe needed to be revised...meaning over turned...and a better ruling put in its place. Justice RBG also stated numerous time that the Bill of Rights should have include the "right to privacy" and as such we needed a new constitutional amendment. You mentioned "Equal Protection" argument and that too is a stretch in the Roe case because who was being denied protection.

My short answer is because of ramped liberal socialist policies. I would submit that we as a society have lost our moral compass and have failed to hold people accountable for their actions. The New Deal, The Square Deal, Great Society and several "feel good" programs of the 40' thru 80's have done nothing but tear at the building blocks that made America great, particularly the nuclear family.
Big Government with big social welfare programs replaced (more like forced) fathers out of the family picture. Not only does this deprive young boys & men of positive male roll models but, with abortions on demand, encourage young girls to be tramps.
