I was contacted by someone in the VA, asking me to participate in a Vietnam Era Women Veterans' health study. I agreed and asked to be seen at the Las Vegas VA hospital on 7/25/22. I have no idea where I am supposed to go OR if, indeed, anyone is still interested in my participation. I have asked several of the local VA folks to check and I have not gotten any answers. CAN YOU SORT THIS OUT FOR ME?

Thanks - Nancy Atchue, US Army Vietnam Era veteran

You can do a few things. You can contact your local VA and get directed to whoever locally works that study. You could contact patient advocacy for help. Or you could directly contact the folks who manage the study.

SPC Nancy Atchue if you go to the link I provided it lists the address, phone number, project manager and biostatistician by name and also their email addresses. You can use secure messaging to send N email directly to your patient advocacy office.

SSgt Christophe Murphy - You're an angel. Neither of those email addresses work - both are returned as undeliverable <sigh>.

SPC Nancy Atchue I tested them and they seem to work but if you are copy/pasting the address check to make sure you don’t have “mail to” added in with the address. I noticed my phone did that and that could be your issue.

GOOD LUCK, !!
I've Previously Been Using Our VA Out Here, In Vegas For Over The Past 20+ Years.
I've Probably Left Around 50 Telephone Calls For Them To Return,
Mainly Regarding Health Issues Of Some Relative Importance.
I MAY Have Been Called Back Once Or Twice...
Call [login to see] & Ask To Be Transferred To "The Nurses Health Line".
They Seem To Be Your Best Bet.

Due To A Series Of Medical Errors & Misdiagnosis, Leading To Entirely Wrong Medications;
Which Caused Other Serious Health Issues, Which I'd Not Previously Had...
I'm Now Trying To Do MY BEST To Remain In A Vertical Position
By Using My Medicare Through South West Medical..

It doesn't surprise me that the VA has not responded. Don't know why but they may have made a decision and not informed you. That has happened to me more than once. Hope they call you back. May have to wait until after July 4th for the possibility of hearing from them.

It's just ridiculous. There are SO FEW of us Vietnam Era Female Vets still alive, I THOUGHT that this would be worthwhile to volunteer my participation and I even scheduled to take off work for the appointment. It is a damned shame that they paid someone to reach out to me but didn't have enough follow-through to tell me "minor" stats like: where, when, how, contact info ... [shake my head]. Pretty soon we'll all be dead and then they'll wonder why they didn't chronicle more information!

My Guess Would Be,
"If They Don't Return Calls, They're Less Apt To Screw Up And Be Held Responsible For It".
Only Thing Worse Is Trying To Get Anything In Writing When They're Giving Out Opinions Of Our Conditions. .. They Can't Deny Issues When In Writing And,
IF I Understand CORRECTLY, All Telephone Conversations Are Recorded.
When I Tried To Hand One Of The Doctors A Note A Few Years Ago.;
You'd Have Though I Was Trying To Threaten His Life.
He Literally Jumped Back & Asked "What's That For".!!? ..
All It Was Is a List Of My OTC Medications I Wanted Him To Forward To My Primary. (Vitamins And Such)...
The Look On His Face Was Close To Stark Horror; But Even When I Told Him What The Note Was About, He'd Still Not Take The Note, But Referred Me To The Front Desk....
.My Experience With Our VA Has NOT Been Very Good At All.....
