Senior Medic

C Co, 3rd BN, 3rd SFG(A), USASFC | Wardak, Afghanistan

Acted as the senior medic on the B team for Charlie Company. I was on loan from the Battalion med shed. Had one junior medic under me. We set up the med shed at the firebase for training the Afghan Kommandos then quickly packed up and headed to FOB Airborne where we built from the mud and gravel up our own firebase for Task Force Chaos. Went on a dozen patrols with a team from 19th SFG and only one firefight this trip with the B team out in Mayden Shar after doing a meet and great escort with some general from USAFC.

Junior Medic

A Co, 2nd BN, 3rd SFG(A), USASFC | Oruzgan, Afghanistan

Joined 2nd BN and deployed meeting everyone downrange. Came over in second wave. Trained up with the B Team at Firebase Ripley in Tarin Kowt and went on first mission for 3 days down to FOB Martello where got into first firefight and combat experience. Flew to Firebase Anaconda and joined ODA 3211 (the new 341). Lost both senior medics early in deployment. Ran a clinic 6 days per week unless on operation 2-3 days per week. Was in many firefights and base defense attacks. Treated thousands of Afghan citizens and even Pakistanis. Lossed many lives and saved them.
