Performed field inspections of Concrete, Soils, Structural Steel on Land & Underwater.Pile Driving & Seismic Structural Reinforcement to ensure that construction work were in full compliance with Governing Building Codes as per ACI, ICC & UBC. Special Skills: Nuclear Soil Density Measuring Gauges, Concrete Testing Equipment, Structural Steel Inspection Equipment, Underwater Structural Evaluations. I spent over 20 Years as a Construction Special Inspector doing inspections at various construction sites such as Grand Coulee Dam up in Washington State. I also enjoyed working with the USGS while doing various ecological studies on various natural plains such as Mount Saint Helens. However, my most rewarding work has been helping people in the aftermath of calamities such as Hurricane Katrina and the helping to rebuild of the 9th ward there.

As I gained further Ranks, I performed functions such as: plotter, radio-telephone and Command and Control sound-powered telephone talker, Maintaining Combat Information Center (CIC) displays of strategic and tactical information. I operated surveillance and altitude radars Identification Friend or Foe (IFF), and associated Radar equipment, standing Bridge watches, relaying information from CIC to the Officer of the Deck (OOD) on a 24 Hour basis. I served as a “Watch Supervisor” and assistant section leader.

The Eisenhower anchored in Tangier Harbor, Morocco, for a three-day visit to conduct turnover with USS Nimitz (CVN 68). Both carrier battle groups then participated with the USS John F. Kennedy (CV 67) BG in multi threat exercise National Week XXXI. From June 15 through 27, Ike operated in the eastern Med. and was involved in Lebanon evacuation.
