LOL I'll try to keep story short, freshman year in college went home with my roommate to his dairy farm for Easter. While there the pigs got out and the family got a kick watching this Yankee try rounding them up. Next year I went home with him for Thanksgiving. While eating roommate's dad asked me if I remembered catching the pigs last spring. I told him I did, then he winked and pointed to the ham!

My lease ran out two weeks before I shipped to basic training. Had a friend whose family were pig farmers. They let me stay until I shipped off.
I am a city boy, so I helped where I could, but mostly tried to stay out of the way and not screw things up.
Pretty much every meal had bacon, sausage, ham, or some combination thereof. And boy, I tell you, I ain't NEVER had better sausage.
