A lot of times when we find ourselves on the cusp of success and fall short, we begin to make mistakes. We either:

- Get mad, impatient, snappy with co-workers
- Miss minor details that could help

The agonizing fact that success is just an inch over can drive people crazy! We should take an NFL Coach’s approach when we’re at the 4th and inches:

1. Let’s take a timeout. Step back from the situation and develop a plan to how you’re going to get over that line to success.
2. Make sure everyone knows the play and their roles. It’s one thing to have the play, but it’s another when one person doesn’t know what their job is.
3. COMMIT. Don’t stop the wheels once you’ve put them in motion. You’ve taken the proper steps, follow through with the play!
4. Remember time is NOT on your side. Whatever the reason or opposition that slowed you down will always be there, but time marches forward. And just like in football games, Delay of Game sets you back each time.

Just some thoughts that came to me today. Have a great week!
