Drill weekends, is it 4 parts or 2 parts? From what was shown, you miss drill weekend, it's 2 u's is this correct?

Each day of BTA is broken down into 2 equal parts, so a 2 day BTA is to be paid as 4 days of Active Duty (I found this thought process helps me wrap my head around it). Therefore, on your unit sign in roster, for a 2 day BTA there should be 4 lines to sign. A lot of people state that this is to sign in and sign out per day. Technically right, but technically wrong. Each line basically represents 1 day of active duty. In regards to U's, each line is, if missed, is classified as a full day missed on active duty (same way of thinking for pay). You miss coming in in the morning, you get a one U. You miss a full day and you get two U's.

SFC (Join to see) - To better clarify, I came in back in 93 but I had a break in service. I have 16 yrs (17 yrs as of 3 days from now), so I get paid 16yrs of total service as an E-6.

So a newly promoted SGT that's been in for 10 years would his pay be based off of that or would his pay be based off of 2 years of a SGT?

A drill weekend is usually four UTAs, or Unit Training Assemblies. They can be as much as a MUTA 8.
Each UTA is a day's pay on the pay chart, so in essence you get paid for four days on a typical drill weekend.
Your question about U's (or Unsatisfactory performance) is more nuanced. The short answer is that if a Soldier does not show up for BA, he gets four U's (or if it is a MUTA 2 or 3, that many U's). If the BA is a MUTA 6, the Soldier only gets 4 U's for the purposes of calculating unsatisfactory performance and the punitive actions of removal for 9 or more U's in a calendar year.
Reference is AR 135-178, Chapter 9.

1SG (Join to see) 1SG. It doesn't go on a calendar year. The year starts the first month they get their first U. So Soldier A misses June drill (MUTA 4). Soldier gets charged for 4 U's. Between Jun of that year and Jun of next year if he accumulates 9 or more he can be discharged.
