Currently, what is the smallest Independent Unit in the Army(excluding the super secret guys)?  Im specifically looking for units with the full responsibility of a company, i.e. Armorer, supply sgt, and all other additional duties.  I realize that most small detachments fall under a support company and additional duties are handled by splitting them between the DETS in that company, so the DET isnt really as independent as a company would be.

Even MORE specific...

My DET is made up of 17 NCOs and 1 Officer we are full independent (as much as any regular Army company is) and cover all responsibilities from UPL, UMO, Armorer,Supply Sgt., CBRN NCO, EO, SHARP, ALL additional duties internally and our own budget.  We are the only 18 individuals in the US Army that wear our beret flash or fall under our UIC. We work directly for BN, as a normal line company would, with no parent company between. Im trying to figure out if we are the smallest "company level" element in the Army. Again excluding the super secret guys.

Are HHDs as independent?

Thanks for the help!

I would lean towards the Movement Control Detachment. Twenty-one Soldiers, NCO's and Officers doing everything a full size company does admin wise plus supporting it's higher battalion and brigade.

AMEDD Centers most of which are mostly 5 to 7 officers and  soldiers. Unlike myself I'm a one man center, so all functions I accomplish,
