I'm going to the Florida Keys this weekend to stay for a week with my hubby and parents for a week. The one and only other time I've been to Key West was once while I was in college, on a cruise, and it's safe to say that I was ... well, not in a state that I remember anything about the experience (sailor habits die hard).

We're renting a house on Cudjoe Key. Those of you who have been and are familiar with the area, what are some of your favorite things to do, and what should we add to our vacation bucket list? We've got a few things in mind, but I always like to solicit opinions from folks who've been there before. We've learned the hard way that we don't want to go and have a strict schedule, but we don't want to just "wing it" the whole time either because we're likely to miss out on certain opportunities. Thanks in advance.

Too late but in case someone else reads it: book a room at the Truman Annex in Key West proper, watch the sun set from the Navy beach there, unobstructed ocean/beach sunset view with minimal other bystanders. Eat at Blue Heaven and Firefly just off of Duval street and see the Hemingway House.

I would go scuba diving if I were you. My family really enjoyed it.
