To help veterans leaving the military as it downsizes, the government on Wednesday started a one-stop job-shopping website for them to create resumes, connect with employers and become part of a database for companies to mine.

Just out of curiosity, did the same company that developed the ACA build this as well? I'm a bit shy of such things due to it possibly being a political buy off, both in votes and taxpayer dollars for friends.

It looks like a pretty good site, I'm just wondering if they planned for the amout of people that will access it any given time. I just tried to get it on it, and it froze my computer 3 times.

That's what ACAP did for me. ACAP also either set up or help coordinate what seemed like monthly job fairs. I can see some validity for her initiative if it helped those once they got to their retired/discharged/home destination. I had PLENTY of job offers before I was (involuntarily/medically) retired, but none in or around the city in which I had just purchased my retirement home; and I had a TS. If her initiative could help me find a job HERE (wherever we finally end up), I think that'd be awesome........which means it has to be something more than just government jobs......link INDUSTRY to it!!!
