So I have the opportunity to attend the National Defense University to earn a Master of Arts in Strategic Security Studies. This is a great degree to have in the military, especially if you want to work at the strategic level like I do. My question is, what can I do with that degree after I retire? Anybody have any ideas?

Never mind. I was not selected as a candidate to attend NDU. It's OK though. They "realize that I may be disappointed with this decision" and they "appreciate all the time and effort" that I put into my applicataion packet, and they "wish me well" in my future academic endeavors. So I guess that all makes it OK. But I'm not bitter. The worst part isn't that I wasn't selected. The worst part is that nobody will tell me why. I just want to know what about my packet made the difference so I can work on fixing it. Was it my writing? Was it my undergrad coursework? Was it my TIS? Not knowing why I failed at something is worse than the failure itself. Thus endeth the rant.

And please do not say "work as a GS-whatever or a DA civilian".
