Commo as i remember it.
PRC 7, PRC 10, and finally the wonderful PRC 25. None of which had more than line of sight range without a 292 relay antenna (only the 25).

Uhm - I would suggest "foot and mouth" was the first communication device. You know, back when the 2 mile run was relevant.

As long as it wasn't "foot in mouth" which was a problem for me on occasion.

MAJ Woods, I was starting to wonder if the photo above depicted your first field communication system! LOL! The earliest I remember using was the old PRC-77. Worst part wasn't carrying the radio itself, it was all the extra batteries we had to pack along! LOL!

I didn't see the PRC 77 till my second tour.... I had so much fun with the predecessors that I forgot about it.
