Three small things I would change if I was CSAF for a day

Yes, I'm avoiding the big issues on purpose, as the potential for unintended consequences, things backfiring, or other consequences tend to start unattainable solutions.  So, here's three definitive, small, concrete things I would do that could have a positive impact:

1.  Get rid of uniform boards.  Replace them with a virtual meeting of 4 people; two captains, one male, one female, one rated the other non, and two TSgts (E-6 for the uninitiated), one male, one female, one MX or other professional where people get dirty, one non.  They would only meet virtually, no TDYs, no studies, no focus groups, no blue ribbon panels, no senior mentors, no chiefs, no senior officers.  Just people who day-to-day have to live long term with their decisions for a long friggin' time.  I only step into break ties.  That's it.  Rationale:  go look up "Billy Mitchell heritage coat" sometime.  That should explain it.

2. PT test = run, pushups, and situps.  That's it.  Abdominal circumference = separate test/flag as a health indicator, not necessarily a fitness indicator. Pass PT but not ab circumference, we work with you.  Pass ab circumference, but not PT, you got problems.

3. Ban meaningless neologisms and buzzwords like "operationalize," "optics," "atmospherics," "robust," "recapitalize," "resource-neutral," - you get the idea.  No wonder the public (and the airmen) don't trust us.  We destroy meaning and cloud clear thought with fake words.
