My Army MOS is over strength. What's the process from Active Army to Active Air Force? Will my ASVAB and GT mean something there?

Reenlistment will put me in the needs of the army so my mos and duty station can change because my mos is over strength and there no mos that I want available because they are over strength. I'm in my reenlistment window now

You have to ETS from the Army first. USAF recruiters won't talk to you until you are at or below 90 days from your ETS. Good Luck!

If you're in the re-enlistment window AND you don't like the opportunities before you, this would be a good time to call the Air Force recruiter. Recommend you keep bustin' your butt while serving out the balance of your time in the Army: Evaluations from whatever you're doing now may be considered (with a command endorsement) in prepping your "next" career in the Air Force. SGT (Join to see) And of course, if it's on the internet it must be true. There is no such thing as getting released from your unit to go to the Air Force, you have to finish your contract with the Army and then enlist into another service if they take you. I suggest that you follow SGM Quick's advice and go talk to your career counselor.
