RP Members has the United States gotten to comfortable since 9/11?

Have we let down are guard and vigilance to thwart off another major catastrophic attack on the United States? History tells us we have

I believe we have. Here is small example. Camp Pendleton, CA posted a sign saying that Feb 1, 2016 no one can come on base without a military ID. Why would they say that in the first place?

Haven't we already. Boston. San Bernardino. Others. Terror attacks don't require great explosions. Sometimes they're announced by things that go bump in the night. Terrorists don't need jet planes or mass casualties to create a sense of fear. Indeed, the repetitive rat-tat-tat of small attacks may be even more effective. The sight of aliens illegally trespassing across our borders with is enough to cause some sleepless nights. Our President denying the threat and welcoming potential terrorists to our land, even financing their transportation, is a form of terrorism unless you believe his tales of Muslims whispering in the ears of the Founders and guiding their hands as they inscribed the Declaration of Independence and Constitution. So, yes we are at risk. Even more, we are under attack from within and without.

COL Mikel J. Burroughs - Are you familiar with any Jewish holidays? Passover is a great archetype for holidays of remembrance. Even the foods have significance and help tell the story. I have often thought that we needed traditions like that to retell the story of America's birth on the 4th of July and other key events. Some may argue that I place too much emphasis on such things, historical things. History fascinates me. Archaeology too. While my short stories dance all over the place, many have a historical component, and my novels are both historical fiction (with more to come). So, yes, maybe I overreact when I view videos such as this...

CPT Jack Durish This is exactly what I was talking about as well. Pretty Sad state of affairs for today's youth - going to college - I guess they are living off student loans and taking no history classes. I'm fortunate that my oldest Daughter is studying to be a History Teacher - thank goodness! This is priceless - how social media has taken over!

COL Mikel J. Burroughs - Sadly, most of what passes for history classes these days is really indoctrination into the Leftist ideology. I have two recommendations. Have your daughter study the basic Hillsdale College classes on line. They're free and closer to the truth. Also, have her read The Devil's Pleasure Palace by Michael Walsh. Forewarned is forearmed.

We are now and always will be. Although we have some of the best people in the world in our intel agencies, they are always looking for soft targets.

John Adams was right when he talked about being at war with these people... that we would be at war with them for eternity.

COL Mikel J. Burroughs I am with LTC Stephen F. and CPT Jack Durish on this one. Border's wide open! I believe they will go after our infrastructure. nuclear power plants, communications, power grids, chemical plants , major highways, etc, etc.. But we should never let our guard down. Period ! If their is anything that my military experience has taught me. Is to be vigilant !
One day we might be seeing a attack on TV again. But, it could be just a diversion while the Terrorist hit a bigger soft target.... Sad state of affairs we live in... But , it is what it is..
If you see something,,,,, say something ! We all must be Vigilant !

SGT John " Mac " McConnell Nicely stated - I would never hope or wish for another 9/11 I just want Americans to stay focused and vigilant toward the fact that the enemy is still out there and they have brainwashed an entire society to hate the Westerners and anyone associated with us. Just my opinion by the way!

Sgt John McConnell, I have been working with computers, networks and trying to stop Viruses on the companies network. Now the hack can bring an OUT-OF-ORDER, and loose millions of dollars, think if the happen to a govt office or military installation.

You are right about that SSG Eddye Royal . They should only use secure transporation media and paths, Never send any type of need to know info out of these networks. But ,I know that is going to take something really bad to happen before these stop gap measures are in place... Even with all the cyber attacks ! Sometimes the important info needs to stay off these systems.... and walked out...Old school ...
