Advice on getting a place to live after leaving the army?

I am in the process of getting out. I had planned on staying in for the long haul but I cannot anymore. I know I want to go to college and I know the career field that I want to go into. My problem is finding a place to live after getting used to living in housing and having a family. Most housing places want a secure job to allow having a place to live. Running out of space so feel free to ask.

Are you planning on going to school full time? If so, colleges will have family housing to offer.
If you are able to, you could apply to full time programs this Fall and get out in the summer of 2017 and go straight to school. You'll also have better GI Bill coverage due to your additional service. It could really be best for you.
If you don't have a choice and must get out now, you can start doing online courses now full time, that still qualifies you for BAH under the GI Bill if you're eligible for it. If none of the above works, then you'll have to get any job you can to pay the bills anyway.

Well, unless your wife has a really good paying job you're going to need at least a part time job to help with expenses. The G.I. Bill pays BAH but depending g where you're going to live it might not help to much.

If my VA comp hadn't come in time, I'd have to work at least part-time, and it was hard to find employers accepting of my schedule.

Same for me, my VA compensation will help but I'll need to get a part time job.

See if housing will write you a letter stating you lived in housing with a time period.

Great point. It is possible depending on availability. I am currently living on-post as a retiree while the house is being built. This way I dont have to pull the family. Also, I don't have to rush myself into moving temporarily into the wrong place.
