With a master of science degree in human resources, how can I get back into the civilian recruiting field?

After the air force my work for career path finders was cut short by liquidation. I stay current by working for the institute for human resources and volunteering as an external consultant. Any tips on how to get back in the field?

Obtain your PHR.
Get your foot in the door and work your way up.
I work with a lot of civilian recruiters and once they get in the position, they don't want to leave.
