Should these be best practices for Veteran Benefits? We promise to serve hallowed institutions and expect fair implied and explicit benefits should we get hurt? Is this too much to ask? Here are some thoughts:
1. We need to fix the VA to be an honest broker
2. Congress needs to stop treating wars like it's a credit card. The veterans are the debt they wipe clean.
3. Stop offsetting.
4. Maybe if the government pays what it is owed to the veterans, they would be more judicious about starting wars.
5. Many veterans are in dire need, let's help them.
6. Make them budget for the VA when we go to war.

I concur with you. Along with that, we need to educate those who volunteer how to properly use the system. The VA needs to positively work on it image by producing results that will keep it out of the headlines for negative shit.

Are you disabled? Tell this to one that has lost a leg, or sight, or arm,or one of the senses...Sorry but you don't need help to transition back and we AREN'T holding our promises to assist or care for the injuries you got in war/ or training to go to war. I know what you will get-a big shut up in all likelihood. I enlisted at 37 and got injured for my troubles-so saying that I am socialist cause I am getting compensated for my injuries and using the VA for my care is a FOOLISH way to say that YOU are part of the problem causse of a lack of education. WWII vets are passing away and Korea/VietNam vets need the VA, just like Gulf era, OIF/OEF,homeless vets and ALL vets.

If I have misunderstood you, I apologize, but I think I hit it the head. I just can't see anyone throwing 'crap' like this and ask the RP community to weigh in.

PFC Pamala (Hall) Foster - Even if you are not a combat vet you are entitled to the same VA care that we are. I am a combat vet and I encourage non combat vets to fight for the care they deserve. It dosen't matter which branch of the service you were in or where or how you served. We all all deserve the same VA care.

I would like to see a 99% staff turnover in the VA, Congress and the Senate

Significant change often begins with the upper level leadership. The middle management often follows and emulates their actions (and inactions), even without direct orders. Middle management is always in the business of making what their boss find important just as much to their own staff. Scary thought at times.
