In December we are having a Dining-Out for my Unit and I've been tasked with getting the Rules and Regs for it and also finding a proper Venue to accommodate us. Any suggestions?

Your unit must have done a dining-out before. There has to be some kind of historical documentation or orders. If not, there has to be another unit that has done it. Start there.

Hmm...I posted a couple of links in here that were removed. The only document I found on line by asking "CPT Google" about it was a regulation from a National Guard or Reserve unit. Look up "Dining Out Regulation" and it should come up on the first page. If you want to go with contacting the unit or other units, I'd go to the S1 or S3 shops. The S1 should have protocol stuff and the S3 should have all the previous orders that have been written...assuming someone made them write an order for the event. You may want to see if the State or Division G1 or G3 has the same information. They have most definitely done a military ball of some kind in the last three years.

Start with the NCO's and work your way up to the Captains. The Captains in the shops probably have that stuff on their computers and don't even know it.
