What would happen if Clinton is elected & then charged & convicted a crime before taking office, Would the Vice President elect take over??

Oh sweet Jesus... Numerous GOP led investigative committees have already cleared her of all wrong doing, let's get over the fake drama already...

Long before that happens, our current President will pardon her (and the rest of his senior staff) for "any and all crimes" that may knowingly or unknowingly have occurred during their service to his administration. The sad thing is the GOP will happily go along with the pardons "for the good of the nation".

MSgt Michael Bischoff - Legally, Yes. Effective, No. Someone please jump on me if I'm wrong ...but, can a convicted felon be elected? I know felons cannot vote. But heck, what's to prevent them from holding office? There is age & citizenship requirements. But for felons, I can't find a thing to prevent it.

Here in Tennessee we actually elected someone who was in prison at the time of the election. His son ran his campaign and the guy got out in time to serve. Also Florida Representative Alcee Hastings was removed from office as a federal judge for corruption and then was elected to congress. Another fine example was DC mayor Berry. Of course all were democrats lol.

The original post asked what would happen if Hillary Clinton is elected and THEN charged and convicted. That's not going to happen, because she'd have to be elected on Election Day...the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November. After that, even if they charged her with a crime the next day, do you really think a trial wouldn't last for months and months????
