With this "new" uprising in Iraq, what's next for our generation. Also...Can some one please explain to me exactly what IS going to go on with all this and/or what this new threat in Iraq is about? I am trying to learn as much as possible but I know that our press and outlets that we have here aren't the best. I tried looking into it further on BBC and other countries news stations and what not. I'm just not getting what exactly its all about and why we should be worried about it at all.

Long story short, ISIS (Sunni) is a group led by former Saddam-regime military leaders and they are striving to make one giant country. They have huge influences in Iran, Syria, Lebanon, and Kurdistan (Northern Iraq). The group is slowly taking over Iraq starting North and the Iraqi Army is putting up no fight (many of them just got into their vehicles and left).
Now what is the threat? Democracy is disappearing and radicals are taking over once again.
In short, it is Sunni vs. Shia once again.

Regardless of the fact that Democracy is leaving or not, I'm befuddled as to how it is any of our interest? We went there to "kill Saddam and find weapons of mass destruction" last time. We killed Saddam (or made sure he wasn't breathing when we left) and didn't find ANY weapons of mass destruction (other than the Fatherless children of our men in uniform). So here we are, now that NOTHING has changed over there and we are right back to this "how can we help" bullshit!? We can help by securing OUR borders, by helping the vets that we have and by raising OUR economy from the pits of hell. I am just lost more so than anything as to what the hell we are doing even considering to help these people?! Yes! it is extremely unfortunate! I don't won't and can't deny this. However....We've got bigger problems here on OUR land to deal with. I guess the question that I really had is this....Does this really concern us? Is there interest that we still have in Iraq? Other than the 89 BILLION dollars that we just left over there. What does any of this have to do with OUR safety and security?
This isn't me trying to be the arrogant ignorant American and say "F*** Them" I just don't really see what is in it for us! I see this as being a way for the rest (The very few countries that don't already hate us) of the world to look as us as damn fools!
