I missed the Jeep by one year, all Khaki uniforms and I hear Okinawa was pretty lively back in the day.

I wonder if the C-47s were better than the C-119, the Jump Master called it the, "Shake Rattle and Roll."

We had jeeps (scout platoon, 82nd.)
Army switched to Hummer right at end of my enlistment.
Signed the jeeps over for good.
That was a sad day.

I drive a jeep today too, Sir., but I don't miss those "Mules" I had to drive carrying the 81mm mortar in the 82nd. ABN. Inf., but the hand crank to get it started reminds me of a chain saw.
